This October, to mark the breast cancer month, Pink Pearl Foundation with her vision of reducing breast cancer in Nigeria will be flagging off four events to continue its awareness creation. The events which are PINK KITCHEN, BALL OUT, PINK RIDE & CAMP DIVA will take place on 5th-7th, 15th, 18TH-22nd and 27th-29th of October respectively. With this events, the Foundation will be creating a relaxed atmosphere where individuals as well as groups can come and have fun and at the same time be provided with basic information on breast cancer, its effects, treatments and healthy tips on how to avoid having this disease that claim the lives of women every day.
PINK KITCHEN is an open restaurant to be flanked by celebrity servers including His Excellency; the governor of Delta State; Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, Sammie Okposo, Mabel Makun, Mo’Cheddah, I Go Save, amongst others who will be actively involved for the duration of the event. This exciting event will be held at the 911 FIELD by UGBUWANGUE MARKET, NPA EXPRESS ROAD Warri Delta State @ 11am from the 5th to 7thof October. Tickets will be sold for the sum of N600.00 at Otres Fast food and at the venue. Attendees who have purchased the ticket will be served with choice food in a relaxed and entertaining atmosphere while the awareness goes on at the background with slideshows, drama presentation, music, comedy and lecture. This event is supported by Arik Air, Otres fast food, Staco Insurance, Vantgarde limited, 911, Remain blessed catering services, ICARE Foundation and Artletic works.
BALL OUT is a novelty football match between two women team to create awareness, impact knowledge and provide screening for our women. It is scheduled to hold @ the OGHARA EFE TOWNSHIP STADIUM, OGHARA DELTA STATE on October 15th @ 2pm. Her Excellency, wife of the Delta state governor will be the special guest of honour. Early that day as well, there is going to be a morning walk/rally in line with our radical campaign on the gravity of breast cancer. This event is supported by Edo State Government, Sulphur Streams, Otres fast food, Fradro limited and Stand up to cancer 9ja.
PINK RIDE holds from the 18th to 22nd of October and would cut across Edo State to Delta state. This event is in collaboration between the pink pearl foundation and the lifestyle cycling club Port-Harcourt. The cyclists will be riding through Benin-Warri-Abraka-Asaba. We expect over 100 cyclists and 500,000 spectators over the entire journey through several cities, towns and villages alongside creating awareness in our usual entertaining manner. We intend to reach a further audience of one million by post coverage of the event through television, radio and newsprint. This event is supported by St. Luke’s hospital Asaba, Artletic works, Access Bank, ICARE foundation, FRSCN, Edo State Government and Lifestyle Cycling club
Burlesque Princess has teamed up with the Pink Pearl Foundation to host CAMP DIVA, a course which will be offered to female cancer survivors and their friends and family. The class will incorporate dance and empowerment exercises as featured in our regular programming and also a tailored group routine specific to the participants.
Recognising the effects both physically and emotionally on not only the diagnosed but those friends and family who provide support though the difficult journey cancer presents, the class offers participants the opportunity to bond while having fun releasing their inner ‘Diva’. Camp Diva aims to empower women through mental and physical health promotion and reinforce positive self esteem.
The sessions will take place on the mornings of October 27th- 29th 2011 on Lagos Island and will be free to all participants. Due to a limited number of space participants are asked to pay a fully refundable amount of N1,000, which will be returned at the start of the sessions.
