TOOLZ ONIRU & MAI ATAFO DAZZLES ON THE DOUBLE COVER OF Y!NAIJA

It has been an amazing 2013, for the cover personalities on the new cover of Y!Naija. That's talking about the heavenly shaped Toolz 'the body' Oniru and the only fashion stylist we know from Nigeria and by extension Africa, in the person of Ohimai Atafo, who is the Creative egg-head behind MAI.

Kudos to the guys at Y! Naija for this bumper edition. We particularly love the captions for the different covers, for Ohimai Atafo, it is MAI OF STEEL, channeling that incredible and much loved Super Hero, known to all as Superman; For the shapely Tolu 'Toolz' Oniru, it has been an incredible year, which made the caption for her cover- The year of TOOLZ- very succinct.

This is issue 14 of the award winning magazine for the young at heart, all through the year the publishers of the magazine have kept their readers glued to the several editions and always eagerly waiting for the new edition.

Check out the release from them- Toolz, like never before! Y! Magazine issues double cover to end the
year; Tolu Oniru, Mai Atafo take the lead

VICTORIA KIMANI

Tolu ‘Toolz’ Oniru and Ohimai Atafo of MAI end the year with a bang on
the cover of Y! Magazine’s latest editing The Annual Style Issue. The
magazine hits the stands and shops today.

It’s been an incredible year for Y! Magazine with Wizkid kicking off
the covers, all through Omowunmi Akinnifesi, Timi Dakolo and Tara-Fela
Durotoye. This edition continues the new Y! tradition of double covers.
Both covers were photographed by Moussa Moussa, styled and directed by
Ifan Ifeanyi Michaels, with profiles by Lekan Olarenwaju and Wilfred
Okiche.

15 pages of each edition already dedicated to fashion (p. Fashion Shoot)
we asked ourselves: why do we do this Style Issue, anyways? The answer
as always is simple: “because we love to!” says managing editor, Adebola
Williams. “Because beneath those studied looks of nonchalance,
workschedules hostile to stilettos, and our inevitable frown at sexism,
the one gender sometimes wants to blossom like a flower and the other to
shine like a thousand stars.”

The magazine as usual includes incisive op-eds - a potpourri of ideas
and issues; a telling interview of four tailors', and an interviewer¹s
delight session with the sitting governor of Rivers, Rotimi Amaechi.

Features from its culture and fashion buffet include a piece on “The
rise and rise of BellaNaija.com”, apiece on “The second coming of Emmy
Collins” and another on “The fall and fall of Arise Magazine Fashion
Week”. There are also interviews with stylist the rising singer Victoria
Kimani and stylist/designer, Adebayo Oke-Lawal.

Y! is available in stores and from vendors across the country. It is
also available at all House of Tara Stores in Lagos, Abuja, Ilorin,
Port-Harcourt, Benin, Kano, Ibadan and Kaduna and Y! campus
representatives in 19 states.

You can also pay for the magazine with your mobile phone and have it
delivered to you at no extra charge or online at exodusestore.com
http://exodusestore.com/ and have it delivered to any part of the
country (click on magazine, click on the Y! Magazine logo and place your
order).

RENI FOLAWIYO GETTING SET TO OPEN THE 5-STAR ALARA CONCEPT STORE

TUNDE & RENI FOLAWIYO
ARTIST'S IMPRESSION OF ALARA CONCEPT STORE
All things been equal another top class and we mean of the highest class lifestyle store is nearly getting ready to join the few that already exists in Lagos. We already have FUSION Lifestyle Store owned by Olukorede Roberts on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi. Not too far from it is Azuh Francis Chukka's own store called PHENOMENON, recently joining these stores on Awolowo road, is Yemi Ishola's own FORMULAR, which is just a stone throw away from Ojukwu Onwuzulike's WARDROBES.

MORE AFTER THE BREAK. PLS CLICK ON READ MORE BELOW

Joining the league of these top stores very early next year would be Jennifer Obayuwana's own answer to what the very stylish peeps and unrepentant fashionistas have been asking for, hers is called POLO AVENUE, located at the POLO Penthouse on Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island. Polo Avenue as we speak, have already taken delivery of their consignments from Gucci, D&G, Jimmy Choo,, Sophie Hulme & Balenciaga. We had a peek at the new store very recently and we were more than impressed.  The interior for want of a better expression to use is ''bad ass'', most definitely first class.

The other new store that recently got our attention is Yemi Ishola's tribute to class and all that's stylish on Awolowo road, Ikoyi, Lagos. As at now, we do not think that this store has any rival whatsoever. The interior is world class in every way and very straight to the point. If we are not mistaken, this store is most likely the branch of Giambattista Valli, Dsquared, Guiseppe Zanotti and a few other very exclusive fashion brand in Nigeria, you see all sizes & style of these brands at the store. Yemi Ishola obviously went the extra mile to make a bold statement with this his new flagship.

Away from all this other stores, let's talk about the meat of the matter- Reni Folawiyo's upcoming Alara, which some have speculated is going to be somewhere on Akin Adesola street, Victoria Island.  For those who might not know, Reni is the very gorgeous and stylish wife of billionaire businessman Tunde Folawiyo. She's said to be a trained interior decorator so one should expect that the new store is going to be one the one to beat and copy by all. after they open. Most definitely money is no issue. In fact, we heard that award winning architect of note, in the person of David Adjaye was the one commissioned to build the concept store. The plan was for the store to be opened before the end of this 2013 before, but we think that might have been postponed till early 2014 now. We hear madam has traversed the fashion capitals of the world to stock up for the store.  The opening we know for sure would be world class.

We have the artist's impression of the upcoming store above.

CAN YOUR MAN LEAVE YOU STRANDED AT THE REGISTRY 6 GOOD TIMES?

The above question is the million dollar question we would love many ladies to give at least an answer to. Can a man (your lover, boyfriend, man friend etc) whomsoever he is leave you stranded at the wedding registry, not once, not twice, not thrice...but, 4, 5, 6 freaking times.

What kind of a man would do that to someone you have professed to love above all others especially more than the whole world. Imagine the preparations that must have gone towards the day, imagine the shock of getting to the venue or better put registry and it came to your turn and your name was getting called repeatedly. Imagine the shock that would be on the face of the witnesses that must have gone to the registry with you, just imagine how shocked the parents would be if out of joy they had thought to go witness their child getting hooked, the  sheer embarrassment of it all.

Let's give you a clearer perspective to ponder on. Imagine you have dated your so called heartthrob all of 10 plus years. Main reason you have stayed that long must be because you have an end in sight, thinking that at the end of it all, he would make a good woman out of you, you have over the years gladly accepted abuses and all sorts of insults. The other reason could be that having gone through ten plus years together and having seen it all, what more storm can we not weather together. It surely must have been love, even if it wasn't at the beginning.

The sheer madness of it all to crown the insult well well, he now does not appear at the registry, 6 different times. Even after you had had the so called introduction.  What could this lady have done to you to warrant such humiliation?

If it were you, what would you have done? Remember this truly happened.

AFRICA MAGIC CELEBRATES A DECADE FUN & ANNOUNCES AMVCA'S 2014 NOMINEES

JOCELYN DUMAS

MICHELLE DEDE

UCHE JOMBO RODRGUEZ

One of the most watched channels on DSTV bouquet, Africa Magic clocked a decade old about 2 weeks ago and to celebrate the milestone they had a glorious celebration, at the Landmark Event Center, Lekki extension, Victoria Island, Lagos.

It was a beautiful night and a double-pronged event that was aired live. First was the 10th anniversary dinner and entertainment & then the announcement of the nominees in the different categories for the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards 2014 (AMVCA 2014). As usual and as expected at occasions like this, many guests from all over came to celebrate with the brand, most especially those in the movie & entertainment industry on a Thursday which is a work day all dressed to the nines.

MORE AFTER THE BREAK. LOADS & LOADS OF PICTURES AS YOU CLICK ON READ ME BELOW

Some of those that we saw at the event, were the likes of the very gorgeous and shapely Joselyn Dumas, hmmmm!!!! That backside can only be described in glorious terms, she came looking exquisite in her white outfit, but we thought she could have done more to hide those very visible panty lines. Apart from that she was the epitome of grace & gorgeousness. There were also the likes of Susan Peters in her silver sequined dress, Eku Edewor who at occasions like this always looks exquisite and changed twice. There was also Uche Jombo- Rodriguez in that black outfit with the 2 slits at the front. We didn't particularly love that outfit that much as we thought it would have looked better on a much thinner and more voluptuous(chest wise) person. As usual there were the likes of now single and mingling Toke Makinwa, the super gorgeous Damilola Adegbite in her yellow outfit, Isio Wanogho in her floor length dress, Kcee & Harrysong who later performed, the very dapper looking Praiz who opened the show, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Nigeria's best dressed comedian Julius Agwu was in the house, Uti Nwachukwu was there, Michelle Dede was the vision of splendor loved that iridescent outfit to bits, Karen Igho and her shape wore black, Alariwo of Africa, Dele Taiwo was there, suave actor Desmond Elliot looked super cool in suit but would have done far better in a white shirt or at best blue, Rukky Sanda wore black and finished it off with her black lip gloss looking like that character in Addam's family, super shapely Osas Ighodaro the gorgeous just says it all, Dabota Lawson in her cleavage bearing outfit looked hmmmmmmm........ don't know, Olumide & his expectant wife- Dakore Akande looked super cool together as always, we also saw Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi, Olisa Adibua, Lala Akindoju, O C Ukeje, Ugonna Omeruo, Ebuka Obi-Ochendo, md MNET Nigeria Biola Alabi, who never ever disappoints. Chairman, Multichoice Nigeria Dewunmi Adewunmi was there welcoming all. We also saw the likes of Joseph Benjamin, Bukky Latunji, AY the comedian, Ivie Okujaiye, Abiola Atanda came wearing her usual sky-scrapper head-tie, Linda Ejiofor looked good as always, Gideon Okeke, Julie Odia- publisher WOW! magazine came as usual with her bff Uche, Yvonne Okoro was super delicious in her outfit, Ireti Doyle, Majid Michel, former top model Bisi Sowemimo came looking sweet in her black outfit  and very many others.

The event was anchored by the very fantastic & super suave IK Osakioduwa, the 10th anniversary show was hosted by the hilarious JARA duo of Uti Nwachukwu & Helen Paul; the other part of the day's event, the AMVCA's nominee announcement was hosted by the Star Gist presenters, the duo of Vimbai & Lawrence & they did a good job we must say.

It was a great night of fashion, fun, entertainment & excitement and all the guests had a glorious time.

HERE ARE THE NOMINEES & CATEGORIES FOR THE AMVCA 2014- According to the organizers of the event, there were over a thousand entries for the 2014 awards.  From the nominations in all the categories, it is obvious that Nigerian producers, directors and actors(male & female) need to up the ante and improve on their game or else others are ready to take over and sweep them off.
