AGELESS NAOMI AT 43 STILL HOT HOT!!!

The super duper model at 43 is still rocking the catwalk like she just started yesterday. The veteran who is still one of the greatest models to have strut the catwalk opened the show for Versace this Sunday.

Men! See those well-toned (Quadriceps) thighs! Naomi here is modeling for the Versace brand for the 1st time in 15 years and she did it with much aplomb! or should we say Chutzpah (Supreme self-confidence).

YVONNE NELSON VS. IYANYA- SHOULDN'T A MAN BE A MAN SOMETIMES?

Ghanaian Star actress is reportedly feeling bad right now, her major reason being that she was 'somehow' used and dumped by the new music sensation in Nigeria Iyanya Mbuk. The thespian is reportedly very sad & bitter about how the rave of the moment treated her, leaving her high & dry, when she was just coming to terms with her love for him. To her apparently they were in a relationship, while to him it was another conquest, just a fling.

Her various utterance about how things went down between them, points to her state of mind at present. All good, at least a woman is expected to feel cheated and thus react the way she has. Especially pouring out her 'maltreated heart' to the public. That takes a bit of gut.

But the sad expect of the whole situation is when a guy, a supposed 'happening dude' would resort to replying and doing so in a disparaging way. To us that's like going the route of a d!"$% head like Ray J who not sure of himself as a man, had to go record a stupid single mouthing ' I hit, I hit, I hit it first in reference to having bedded Kim K before Kanye West. If you did? So what? So what should the guy who officially opened the space when Kim K was age 14 years old do now? It's obvious that Ray J is somehow intimidated by the personae or status of Kanye West, so he needed to give himself some major boost to feel good. Especially if your career is dead and the other dude's own is just getting better and better.

Same thing with Iyanya, as a guy, nothing would have diminished Iyanya's status in anyway, if for the sake of maturity he had just kept mum about the whole issue. Mouthing off like he has done, doesn't make it at all in our opinion. Everyone already seem to believe he 'Chop & cleaned' the mouth, which has already added to his 'so called rep' why rob more salt into an already festered injury like an uncaring brat again?

Yvonne also, how you take enter obvious one chance like this still baffles one. We can't blame you sha!!! The swags might have been absolutely over-powering.

Just as our own cup of tea!!!

EX-INTERNATIONAL THOMPSON OLIHA IS DEAD!!!

Former Nigerian Ex-International Thompson Oliha reportedly died this morning in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The gentleman footballer gave up the ghost very early this morning, Sunday, June 30, 2013 at about 4.05am, at the Yusjib Industrial Medicare Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State. He was a member of the Super Eagles Africa Nations Cup winning Squad of Tunisia 1994.

Born on October 4, 1968, Mr. Oliha would have clocked 45 in October of this year, if not for his untimely death. He apparently slumped inside the toilet and was immediately rushed to the hospital by his wife Irish Oliha, but he had given up the ghost before help could come his way.

He was the head coach of the Kwara Football Academy (KFA) in Ilorin, Kwara State as at the time of his death.  No information yet on what could be the probable cause of death.

May the soul of the dearly departed rest in peace!

BULL'S EYE BY JOSEPH EDGAR- OJB JEZEREEL: THE TRAGEDY OF BEING A CELEBRITY

JOSEPH SAMPSON EDGAR
Now as usual, I will toe the other line. I will take a minority position. For the last one or two weeks, we have been daily assailed by the travails our lovely producer has been going through with his health. I have read that he has issues with his Kidney and needs urgently the sum of N15million to get treatment. All his colleagues have been rallying around him. One, I read even drove a N15m jeep to go make her own donation. At the last count, Don Jazzy, Psquare and Iyanya have all contributed to the Fund. It is slowly but surely grinding into a platform for publicity hungry ‘celebutants.

Forgive me, if I as much as I try refuse to be emotional with OJB’s plight. This should not be taken personal at all.  I have nothing against the young man, I have him in my prayers on a daily basis and really wish that he would raise all the money and get his health back. He still has a lot to give to us.

CONCLUDING PART AFTER THE BREAK. PLS CLICK ON READ MORE BELOW

I feel like this is a shame. Shame on our ‘stars’, shame on the system that encourages flippancy, shame on people that fate and talent have given a lift above the millions who die daily from lack of meager resources to treat even the simplest of diseases and yet die unnoticed.

What is the use of releasing one album, make all the money in 6 months that the rest of us can only dream of, then squandering the money on drinks, cars and loose women and end up in penury and the slightest illness, we see appeals, begging for Funds to treat themselves.  This to me is wicked. What of the millions who are dying from dysentery, cholera and malaria. The millions, who in all their lives have never earned N50,000.00 but who have to struggle to heal themselves. Who launches appeals for them, where are the so called stars who will run to their aids, where is the media, where are the Bloggers. All these should end.

People especially our “stars’ should learn how to manage their temporary wealth, so that they do not disturb our peace when they fall on illluck, which usually comes when they are no longer reigning. From Enebeli Enebuwa, to Sam Loco and now OJB, it’s the same story. Massive talent, wealth, squandering opportunities, ill-health and now appeals for donations.  All these should end abeg.

I once sat with Tony Okoroji , the ex-president of PMAN. He now runs a collection society. I begged him to consider a Trust Fund for these artistes. A fund that would take just 5% of their incomes and manage for them so that when the music stopped, they would have something to fall back on. Na lie, the man just looked me, like say I be leper. From Charly Boy to Segun Arinze, to Fred Amata to Obi Asika to Fiberesinma all turned me down. Only Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, that visceral amazon, who saw what I was talking about and worked assiduously with me to launch the Artiste Fund, which pitiably crashed due to the infighting and shallowness of what is today's Nollywood.

Some childish Artists just spent N30m on two cars. I laugh. He sings bubble-gum music. A genre that has no longevity. In another five years, if he is lucky to reign that long, a new style will emerge and he will stop reigning and at the point the music will end. If he has not planned well, we will start seeing appeals and launching when he comes down with chicken-pox. Meanwhile, when he was reigning, he was spending money like it was running out.

Abeg, there are real people looking for this kind of attention. People who have never in their lives seen good fortune and who are dying simply because they cannot afford the salt and sugar solution needed to keep their kids alive.

A word is enough for the wise. I don talk my own.

Bull's eye is written by Joseph Sampson Edgar. Every thing written are his own words and personal opinions.

STARS & CELEBS GATHER FOR THE LAUNCH OF AWARD WINNING SHUGA IN NIGERIA.

TOKE MAKINWA
MARY OCHUGBUA
ANDRE
SOMKELE

Many of the Nigerian Stars & Celebs all converged last night at the prestigious Wheatbaker Hotel in Ikoyi to show their support for an advocacy the whole world should support. It's none other than the fight against HIV/AIDS, teen pregnancy & the need for sexual responsibility.

The advocacy that is being championed by MTV Staying alive foundation with the very active collaboration of MTV Base and with the full support of NACA (National Agency for the Control of Aids), which is a Federal Government agency set up to help to reduce the spread of the epidemic and not forgetting the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

According to statistics, Nigeria has the 2nd highest number of those suffering from HIV/AIDS in the world after South Africa. The idea majorly is to use the medium of Shuga, the award winning series, that has aired the past 2 seasons in Kenya to pass the message across to the youths.

MORE PICTURES & CONCLUDING PART AFTER THE BREAK. PLS CLICK ON TRAD MORE BELOW

The event which held at the WheatBaker Hotel on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 had top bosses in the entertainment and health sectors like Alex Okosi, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Africa, Georgia Arnold, Executive Director, MTV Staying Alive Foundation, Emmanuel Alhassan, Director, Resource Mobilisation for the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), Mairo Mandara, Nigeria Country Representative, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a and Dr Okey Nwanyanwu, CDC Country Director, Nigeria among many others.

Alex Okosi, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, VIMN Africa expressed his excitement on the launch of the series in Nigeria, “MTV Base is proud and excited to bring Shuga to Nigeria for the first time.  We are delighted that this award-winning series and multimedia campaign will be using its muscle to shine a light on important public health issues affecting youth, and promoting meaningful behaviour change while leveraging Nigerian creativity and talent.”

Guests at the launch include CEO Beat FM, Deji Awokoya, Olisa Adibua, Chris Attoh, Gbenro Ajibade, IllBliss, Uti Nwachukwu, Alex Ekubo, Beverly Naya, Oreka Goddis, Tosyn Bucknor, Toke Makinwa, Jumai Shaba among others.

Executive Director, MTV Staying Alive Foundation, Georgia Arnold also spoke on the initiative behind the launch, “We aim to strike a chord with young Nigerians and provoke a significant shift in their attitudes and behaviour towards sexual health and associated public health issues.  Combining these messages with stylish production, poignant storylines, believable characters and world class acting allows Shuga to sweeten the pill and make an impact where other campaigns may have failed to resonate in the past.”

“Bringing Shuga to Nigeria is a very smart move as youths in Nigeria need to take the importance of sexual health seriously and using this medium to push this message as well as using Nigerian acts to create real life situations is a smart move.”Nollywood actor, Beverly Naya said at the event.

Emmanuel Alhassan, Director, NACA commented, ”The Nigerian government is delighted to support this important youth education initiative which complements our on-going education projects at all levels of society.  Shuga'ssubtle messaging will not only ensure greater understanding of HIV prevention and treatment measures among young people but communicate important messages about tolerance and acceptance".

“Efforts such as Shuga that seek to expand knowledge about HIV among young people are critical to helping us achieve an AIDS-free generation. Raising awareness is key to keeping this and future generations healthy and able to lead productive lives,” commented Shirley A. Dady, PEPFAR Country Coordinator, Nigeria.

Fusing public health messaging with gripping storylines, Shuga is part of a powerful 360-degree mass media campaign designed to raise awareness about HIV prevention and teen pregnancy in Nigeria, after research highlighted widespread ignorance about or indifference to contraception, poor access to contraceptives, a significantly high incidence of mother-to-child HIV transmission, and gender-based violence in the region.

The series will premiere on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322), Nigerian terrestrial broadcasters and other MTV networks and third party broadcasters around the world from World AIDS Day (1 December 2013).  Other elements of the Shuga campaign will include a radio drama series, a peer educator programme, a comic book in Hausa and English, a mobile information service, social media and a range of digital platforms.

To continue the conversation about Shuga, please like Shuga on www.facebook.com/MTVShuga, or follow Shuga on Twitter @MTVShugausing the hashtag #shuganaija.
Shuga is to be produced by MTV Base and the MTV Staying Alive Foundation in collaboration with NACA, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund).  Other partners include Girl Hub, a partnership between the Nike Foundation and the UK’s Department of International Development (DFID) which helps transform the lives of adolescent girls living in poverty by engaging the girls themselves as active participants.  PEPFAR (The US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) has also expressed a commitment to join forces with the campaign.
