LIVE!!! AT THE MAGNIFICIENT FENERBACHE STADIUM,IN ISTANBUL,TURKEY

It was match day and one of the most supported football clubs in the beautiful city of Fenerbache, in Istanbul needed to win, winning means that they are nearer to clinching the league cup, winning the league cup meant that they would be playing at the very lucrative champions league and our own national team's football captain-JOSEPH YOBO would be showcasing his skills at football's biggest arena. Here we are, amongst 50,000 plus people at the fantastic stadium, in Istanbul with a population of 10 million people, in one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

Though it was freezing cold, it didn't take the fun out in anyway from the what we had come to see, we had arrived the imposing stadium a few minutes after the match had started, and it was very obvious that it was an important match, a must win, with the other team bent on being the spoiler, and the 12th team members-the fan were vociferous and ferocious in their support, it was a delightsome match to watch and an unbelievably beautiful experience, with Joseph Yobo being at his most solid best at the heart of the defence.

We were celebrated by the fans everywhere we went, though Joseph is only on loan, everyone wanted to know if he was going to stay, and literally begging that he must stay, it was quite obvious that all the Nigerian stars that had at one time or the other plied their trade in Turkey were great ambassadors of the country, with the people asking where we were from and on saying Nigeria, you were asked  if you knew Yobo, Amokachie,Okocha or Uche!!!!!.

The imposing stadium is a story for another day, far better and neatly maintained than many national stadias, it was a beauty to behold and joy to experience. I was part of the august visitors from Nigeria as were Abigail Fashanu,Munachi Abii & Ugonna Ogbonna, Sarah Ofili & Oby Igwe came in from the UK.

Alli in all. it was a fantastic time and one of the major highlights of my visit to Turkey and thank God my team FENERBACHE won by a slim margin 1 - 0, we are definitely playing the champions league next season, NO DOUBT!!!!!!!!.   Thanks to Joseph & Adaeze Yobo & family for a great time.
