AKEEM SHODEINDE REOPENS MOVIDA TO A LOUD BANG!!!

Finally after a long time in limbo, owing to the promoter's ill health Movida night club reopened last night to a very loud bang, showing that Akeem still holds a few aces in his hands when it comes to running a bar/night club/lounge.  His club reopened last night Friday, November 29, 2013 and the place was jam-packed!


The club located on Adeola Hopewell in Victoria Island, Lagos had been shutdown for several months now, mainly because Akeem had had to fight one of the greatest battles of his life to stay alive owing to diabetes and some other add-ons. At a the height of the health battle, he had lost so much weight and was so weak that many had thought secretly that it was the end for the formerly very big and bubbly dude. 

Not wanting to fall into the hands of very sharp boys who could have been running/managing the club in his absence all through when he was very ill, he apparently decided then to shutdown temporarily to nurse himself back to health and face his business back squarely.

According to some of those that were at the opening or that have gone to the fun-spot, they said Movida's new bar area is awesomely beautiful and big, much bigger than how it used to before. Another new addition to the place is the new cigar bar, which we hear is been manned by the gorgeous Carline, the ex-Caribbean model who  is a cigar connoisseur and supplies lovers of cigars in Lagos, Abuja & Accra.  

Although we also hear that Akeem is on the move presently looking for investors to support him in his effort to take the club back to the height it used to enjoy before, this is mainly because he is said to have spent a colossal amount of money to nurse himself back to health; funds unavailability not withstanding he has reopened Movida to show all and sundry he still possesses the Midas touch in the business. 

So back on the grind for Akeem 'Mr. Movida' Shodeinde all over again.

N20MILLION ENDORSEMENT DEAL FOR SEYI SHAY FROM ETISALAT

Coming back home now by hindsight must surely be one of the very best decisions Seyi Shay must have made in her life existence till date. After trying all this while in the UK to make a head way as an artiste, being signed on with others by Matthew Knowles (Beyonce's Dad), it wasn't until she returned to Nigeria, that her fortune seemingly changed for the best. Now all she had always ever wanted and more are just falling over themselves for her. The clouds have seemingly arranged together and the rain of blessings have begun to pore. 

Since landing in Naija, goodwill and good fortune has seemingly surrounded this sonorously blessed but very humble one. Now we truly understand why when she's singing her hit single- Irawo, she always does so with so much gusto and heart.Truly her star has begun to shine ever so brightly.

The delectably gorgeous one we hear has just put pen to paper on a deal said to be worth N20 million? with communication's company- Etisalat. (Amount of deal not confirmed by the parties involved yet).
 
Is this not a fantastic way of ending the year? Etisalat too seems to have joined bandwagon in the frenzy to sign up stars like their other counterparts MTN & GLO. So who is next?

OUT AND ABOUT AT THE SHUGA PREMIERE IN LAGOS

The premiere of the 3rd series of SHUGA the award winning series held in Lagos last week at the Silverbird Galleria on Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos. This 3rd series is directed by the very gifted Biyi Bandele and has a largely Nigerian cast, many of  who prior to this experience, had never acted before. 


This 3rd series of #Shuga is a Nigerian-based sex and relationship drama that is planned to reach the largest audience ever yet in the history of the drama series. The drama was first aired in 2009 on MTV Base as part of the initiative of MTV Staying Alive Ignite. The main aim of this initiative is to have a multimedia campaign that would help spread the message about responsible sexual behavior and tolerance, especially now in the days of the spread of HIV/AIDS.

Series 1 and 2 were filmed in Kenya and used to air weekly on MTV Base and one of the now more famous cast that featured in the past season is the incredibly talented Lupita Nyong'O.

The invite only event was attended by the cast Tiwa Savage who came to the event with her fiance TJ Billz, other cast members at the event were Maria Okanrende, Okezie Morro, Chris Attoh, Dorcas Shola Fapson, Timini Egbuson, Leonora Okine, Ikubese Emmanuel Ifeanyichukwu, Nick Mutuma, Sharon Ezaamaka, Kachi Nnochiri, Olumide Oworu, Owumi Ugbeye and very many others.

We also saw the likes of Encomium's publisher Mr Kunle Bakare, Iyanya, Sound Sultan, Tee A, Lolo,  iLLbliss, Lola Okojevoh and others.

The event's MC was none other than MTV vj Ehis Okoeguale.

We were shown about 4 of the episodes of the series. And truth be told it is one of the best productions we have ever come across coming out of Nigeria. The cast and production crew headed by Biyi Bandele must be commended for a very good job well done. The production fused sexual health messaging with gripping storylines. The idea to raise awareness among young people about HIV prevention  and reproductive health in Nigeria was very obvious and the message was loud. 

We are too sure that this series would be a winner by many miles. The producers are estimating a viewing audience of about 550 million around the world.

One of the premier music awards in Nigeria, the Nigeria Music Video Awards 2013, the 7th in the series held a few weeks back at the Muson Center, Onikan, Lagos. We do not know why the coverage wasn't loud enough. 


We heard it had a massive turnout of those in the industry the likes of Dayo D1 Adeneye, Sean Tizzle, Waje, Venita Akpofure, May D, Flavour Ice Prince and the likes. 

One of the biggest winners on the night was Flavour Nabania who carted home 4 awards. Another big winner was ace music video producer Clarence Peters who won 2 awards. Other winners were Sean Tizzle, Chidinma, Orezi, BlackMagic, Banky W, Olamide, Dr Victor Olaiya, Sound Sultan, 2 Face, Ice Prince, Burna Boy, Mat Max, X-Project, Ozzybosco and Amaray Oke Nbagi.

The biggest award of the night 'Video of the Year' was won by Flavour.

Video vixen Venita Akpofure dazzled in her see through outfit, most probably was the best dressed babe at the event.
