Joy immeasurable mixed with gladness of heart has been the lot of Dr. Peter Obafemi and his family,  since about 2 days now, reason or reasons we are pretty sure you want to know?

The People's Democratic Party Gubernatorial Aspirant in Ekiti State, who at a time was the promoter of the now comatose Rite Time/World Airways that had the very lucrative Lagos-Atlanta flight deal some years back was blessed with the greatest gift from God about 48 hours ago.

His gorgeous young wife, who he had married rather quietly a while ago, just gave birth to a ''Bouncing Baby Boy''. Hip Hip Hooray!!! According to the feelers we have gotten, Lolade Iruka, the gorgeous wife whose dad is Ibo & mom Yoruba, gave birth to the bundle of joy early Sunday morning. Sunday, September 29, 2013 to be more precise, at the Faith City Hospital, Oju Olobun Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

From the feelers that we have gotten naysayers are of the opinion that this might be Otunba (Dr) Peter Obafemi, first child and a baby boy at that, though we do not readily agree to that assertion anyway. This is the socialite's second missionary journey into matrimony. He had gotten divorced from his first wife, Maureen a US based lady some years ago when the center couldn't hold together again, after several love trials, the young & deliciously gorgeous Lolade came into his life and like a bolt outta the blues, she was the one that apparently got his heart beating faster than normal and made him believe in love all over again. 

After the apparent disappointment of the past, cupid apparently shot his searing arrows of love again into Dr. Obafemi's heart when he laid eyes on Lolade and love enveloped the duo and they got married. Now after many months, Lolade to the glory of God has dropped a bouncing baby boy,  there first together. 

Since child birth is a thing of joy and that should be well celebrated, especially by a very liquid Dr. Peter Obafemi, we do not know why they (the duo) are keeping the joyful noise on the down low, but in our own way, knowing fully well that a goldfish has no hiding place, we have thought to help them celebrate very openly the blessings of God. As at last night we know for sure madam was still at the 5-Star hospital. New baby & the elated mom are said to be in perfect health.

LONDON PREMIERE OF THE FATIMA JABBE FILM-BATTERED

Battered, a film by Fatima Jabbe premiered last night in London. Fatima Jabbe is the Gambian, Actress, Entrepreneur & Politician , who has won several awards for her acting prowess, especially for her role in the award winning film Mirror Boy. 2 of the major awards she has won are the BEFFTA & ZAFAA. 


BATTERED, is executive produced by Fatima Jabbe and she's also the film's script writer while also acting in it. It's Fatima's own advocacy kind of to fight against Violence against women and call for equality, development & peace.

Last night's premiere was sure a very colourful one, judging by the red carpet pictures we saw. 

Subsequent premieres would be coming up in Sierra-Leone, Nigeria, Gambia, Ghana & South Africa in 2014.

We recently caught up with record breaking Nigerian dancer Kaffy Umeh at a party glowing with her baby bump. She was just coming in from work, if not for the very obvious baby bump that she was carrying with gusto one wouldn't have known she was that many months gone. 

She was as nimble & agile as normal, moving up and about, having a laugh here and chat there. We thoroughly enjoyed her company. She's obviously either in her 2nd or 3rd trimester, so her 1st son must already be counting the weeks towards receiving either a new brother or sister.

BUYER BEWARE!!! HUSBANDS BEWARE OF RACKET!!!

It's not a new thing, it's system that's been used for quite a while now, always repackaged to fit the times and greedy men, who seemingly have no discipline whatsoever & are always falling for it. Remember Mama Dolphin on Kosofe.

What are we on about? It none other than what many have termed ''Racket''. How does this work? Not in any special way, once the 'greedy married man' (There so many of the men, who loves to eat their cake and have it) falls for the shenanigans of the 'single lady' and they start their relationship, the idea is to make sure that the man does his ''deeds' without due 'protection'- RACKET. Once that mistake is made the man most often is in soup from then on. 

It's the case of blackmail from then on, the richer or more well to do the man is, the higher the stake. Great amount of money, cars & properties are some of the prices that would paid for the fun indiscretions. 

How does this go? After a while, the lady comes in to say she has taken in and is on the 9 months course, the fun loving man not wanting any complications pleads that he wants nothing to do with the baby, the smart girl knowing her hook has sunk in, turns the screw using subtle blackmail, if subtlety doesn't work easily, then the threats of exposure especially to the wife & public (social media) works in most cases. 

The greedy, fun-loving man has to part with something(s) major, what that would be is dependent on what the lady want and it's never something little.

Africa made a good showing at the just concluded Miss World 2013, which took place in Nusa Dua, on the resort Island of Bali in Indonesia, last night Saturday, September 28, 2013. 

The newly crowned Miss World 2013, is none other than 23 year-old US born Megan Young. She obliterated all comers to emerge the 1st amongst equals. First runner-up is Miss France, Marine Lorphelin, while the very lovely Miss Ghana, Carranzar Naa Okailey-Shooter was the 2nd runner-up. They were joined by the People's choice Maroua Kharbouch, who is Miss Gibraltar. Another African, Miss South Sudan, Modong Manuela Mogga was in the top 10.

The competition took place amidst very tight security as there had been protests all through the week by Muslim hardliners and there was the fear that extremists might disrupt the competition. 

She was crowned by the Miss World 2012, Wenxia Yu of China. This year's Miss World had no swimwear section part of the actions taken by the organisers to stem the anger against the competition by the Muslim hardliners & extremists. 

127 national queens from around the world competed for this year's crown. Nigeria was represented by the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2013, Anna Banner, 18. From 127 beauties, it was narrowed down to 20 contestants, then 10 before the final 6 were presented. The final 6 were the Queens from Brazil, Ghana, Spain, Philippines, France & the people's choice from Gibraltar, who was the fans favourite, after receiving the highest votes on the Miss World 2013 app. 

Carranzar 23, is a 4th year medical student, born & bred in Accra, the capital of Ghana. Miss South Sudan, Modong Manuela Mogga, 21 another medical school student was in the top 10.

OUT & ABOUT AT ADANNA & CHIMA ANYASO'S WEDDING RECEPTION- MAESTRO'S MEDIA EXCLUSIVE

The reception after the fairytale wedding ceremony between Adanna & Chima was the opportunity for the couple to let off steam, relax and have major fun. After the exchange of vows and the signing of the marriage register, unto the reception ground in their Vintage Rolls-Royce they went after chilling for a few minutes to catch their breath.


Many who couldn't make the first part (exchange of vows), made sure they attended the merriment and sure as expected everyone had unbridled fun. The white marquee was filled to capacity with friends, family members & associates of the couple. At least not less than 500 guests were in attendance. All gaily & colourfully attired. 

Those who had not seen the couple in their wedding outfits were eagerly waiting to have a view of them and they weren't disappointed when they were ushered in flanked on both sides by the gorgeous maids of honour & suave groomsmen. The maids of honour all wore pink, while the groomsmen all wore petroleum blue suits, white shirts, red ties & with red pocket hankies. It was a great sight to behold. 

The bride in her gorgeous white wedding outfit looking all virginal, while the handsome six foot plus tall groom was the epitome dapperness in his natty cream tail coat worn over a pure white shirt and black waist-coat, atop his black trousers and finishing it off with a black tall hat & not forgetting his black bow-tie, those Louis Vuitton shoes were totally on point. 

The couple danced into the hall to every one's delight. The obviously ecstatic Chima is obviously very nimble on his feet and he showed a bit of his dexterity on the dance floor to the delight of all, Adanna on the hand was obviously very shy, but she still swayed majestically like a princess to the beats as they came inside the marquee and so the exciting proceedings began. 

The sweet looking duo were then introduced as the newest couple in town. The VIP guests, the likes of Mrs Florence Ajimobi, Sir Emeka Ihedioha, Chief Alabo Graham-Douglas, Leo Stan-Ekeh, Willie & Nkiru Anumudu and many others were then introduced to all. Later on the deputy speaker was called upon to advise the couple on the new journey they had just begun. Chief Leo Stan-Ekeh also spoke for a bit, mainly acknowledging that the speaker had already spoken, so there was really little to add and Mrs. Florence Ajimobi thereafter led the couple in cutting their 7-tier cake, praying for the success of the union. 

The couple thereafter fed themselves with a little bit of drama to the delight of all, 'twas obvious that love was heavy in the air, it was so thick one could cut it with a knife. After a bit more ceremony the gorgeous bride later went away to change into another outfit, this time around a bedazzling cobalt blue outfit, another winner by miles. Thereafter, the 2nd round of dance, dance, dance began, but with everyone now very involved. As it is expected with any Nigerian occasions/events it was the opportunity for money spraying and since this was a London affair, it was more of Dollars & Pounds that was sprayed.

All in all, everyone had a rollicking time.  Many not minding the 2 hours drive back to London at all.
