Many are still talking about this wedding everywhere. It is one wedding that would not be forgotten in a hurry for a while to come. So opulent it was, that it would take a while for any wedding to match it, in terms of expenses and opulence. But that's not what this is all about. 

Many had wondered aloud, on how come the mother of the groom's presence was not felt in any way at her son's nuptial ceremony. The way it is, is that the wedding day is one of the happiest moments of any mom & dad's life. So many had expected that since the boy getting married is not the child of the wife presently at home, it's one opportunity for the estranged lady to shine and revel in her son's happy day. But alas! Tosin mother was nowhere near the venue of the ceremony, she wasn't even in Dubai, the UAE in any capacity. 

Why? We do not know. But what we can tell you all for a fact is that, Tosin's step-mom, the gorgeous heart-beat of Otunba Jide Omokore, in the person of Angela Ebagua , was very prominent at the wedding. In fact, she stood in very well as the mother of the groom. This we hear was the case because she and the groom have a fantastic relationship, based on mutual respect and admiration.

No wonder madam went to Dubai with a fully loaded Private Jet carrying friends and well-wishers. The pj we hear belongs to her and not even her husband, who we hear owns like 4.

Can it be true? If it is then, it's just a little snag for the father of the newly married Faizer Omokore. The speculation is that, it is because of the lavishness of the daughter's wedding that the permanent secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum Resources has been removed and is ready to be redeployed. Sequel to the removal from his post, a director in the ministry has been directed to take over as acting PS immediately.

Though according to our understanding, the wedding of the decade in Dubai between Ambassador Abdulkadri's daughter's Faizer & Otunba Omokore's son Oluwatosin was majorly sponsored by the billionaire father of the groom, many including the FG are of the opinion that there's no way, that the father of the bride wouldn't have contributed immensely towards his daughter unbelievably outlandish & luxurious wedding in Dubai. The idea is that, how could a serving civil servant host such a lavish wedding in Dubai, the UAE? Where did the funds come from? People asking that question, conveniently forget the fact that the bride's father-in-law is a billionaire many times over. 

For those who don't know what we are talking about, it is the wedding of the decade between Faizer & Oluwatosin, that shook Dubai who are already used to seeing money bags and big spenders to it's foundation. The multimillion dollars event took place at the prestigious 5-star wonder hotel JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, one of the best hotels in the whole of Dubai. It also has the distinction of having the biggest event space for wedding in the tourist capital of the UAE. Many guests were lodged at the JW Marriott and many others at ''The Address'', another 5-star wonder hotel in Dubai.

Pre-wedding party was at the incredibly posh Cavalli Club Dubai the night prior to the wedding and it was on a lock-down, only the wedding train were allowed in. Everything taken, drinks, cigars etc were on the house. It was at the Cavalli Club, that Naeto C serenaded the couple. The cost of some of the drinks consumed are too good to be true. 

Wedding proper, had many guests in attendance who all went home with fantastic gifts at least a BlackBerry Q10 phone which in Nigeria goes for about #107,000 , also given out were Samsung Galaxy Tabs- which also goes for between #75,000 and #95,000, there was still the B&O Speakers, the Arabian tea sets & the luxury towels. So each guest must have gone home with gifts worth not less than $1000 Dollars. It was at the wedding proper that rave of the moment, Wizkid performed to everyone's delight. BasketMouth was the host and Deejay Jimmy Jatt was on the wheel of steel, while the entire Eboni Band & Godbless were flown in to come perform. Not forgetting that Nuthing but Strings, who were 3rd runners-up at America's Got Talent also performed. 

Private jets were flying like they were kites and commercial flights were over booked from the Wednesday prior to the wedding at least the business class section.

Why they had wanted this wedding hush-hush baffles us. It's a sheer spectacle that they should have allowed us to see, so that all can dream to get to this level one day. . Many of those who got invited and were able to enter have had only one thing to say, that this is ''the society wedding of the decade, bar none''. They are even insinuating that there has been no wedding even in recent times that could match this particular one in terms of sheer extravagance & opulence. The money spent, which is in Dollars: Is in Millions of Dollars. Someone estimated that about $8 million dollars must have been spent. That's not even up to a day's money coming in from one of the 8 oil wells. Dubai, especially the venues used would not forget, and would never forget in a hurry as Nigeria & Nigerians were put on the map for another reason entirely (As those who have the money in torrents or like a flood and are not afraid to spend it to enjoy the very best of life. If you doubt us, go to Harrods & Selfridges and mention some names and the doors would open for you like an expressway, with you getting treatments reserved for royalties.

In our earlier report we had only spoken about JW Marriott Marquis, where the whole of the 70th floor was taken over by the Omokore's guests, the 37th floor of the same hotel was where lunch was served for all. Many other guests who didn't stay at the Marriott, were lodged at ''The Address'', we wouldn't want to talk too much about this colossal hotel. Chairman himself, Otunba Jide Omokore stayed at one of the ultra superlative ''the One & Only'' A super luxurious hotel in Dubai. There are about 4 of those in Dubai- One and Only Royal Mirage Palace, One and Only the Palm, One and Only Royal Mirage Arabian Court and One and Only Residence & Spa. It's at one of this 4 the billionaire lodged. 


We don't need to bore you about the 2 families involved in this wedding. Oluwatosin is the first son of Otunba Jide Omokore, a top PDP Stalwart, a billionaire and the Chairman of Energy Resources Grp, which is the holding company of many subsidiaries, of which one of the best known of the subsidiaries been SPOG Petrochemicals. Otunba Omokore has been described by Forbes as amongst some of the not too well known ''Richest Nigerians''. Tosin's step-mom is the brilliant Angela Ebagua, a top director at Access Bank Plc., Some have even speculated that she might become the next MD of the bank soon after the tenure of Aigboje Aig-Imokhuede, the current MD/CEO of the bank. Faizer's dad on the other hand is the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Ambassador AbdulKadri Fari. So obviously they are no pushovers themselves.

Dubai was on a lock-down the weekend of June 7 to 9, 2013. The pre-wedding party took place at the Cavalli Club Dubai, which is located at the humongous Fairmont Hotel on Sheikh Zayed road, Dubai the same street as the JW Marriott Marquis, Dubai where the wedding itself took place. Pre-wedding party was on the Friday, June 7, 2013, prior to the wedding proper which was on Saturday, June 8, 2013. Let's quote the description of the Cavalli Club for you- ''It's a distillation of all things fabulous. It was launched in collaboration with the famous Italian designer- Roberto Cavalli. So just imagine something connected to one of the premier designers of the world, known for sheer opulence.


Cavalli Club Dubai, was on a total lock-down, it was totally taken over by the Omokore's and their guests. All the biggest and best brands of liquors in the house and best Cuban cigars were at everyone's beck and call. A particular brand of Champagne, said to cost $150,000 par bottle was what a particular young billionaire favoured. And it was pop-pop-pop!!! All night long, at least till 3am. The Magnums, Kristals, Louis Xiii Cognac etc were all on the house and people had their fill. A particular government official who had wanted to smoke a Cuban was given like a whole lots to make his choice and to take as many as he wanted. Some said about the Cavalli Club on that night, ''it was the highest paying night in the history of the joint''.

Getting inside the wedding venue on the D-day even with your IV was like a camel passing through the eye of the needle. Security was 7-stars. IV's were cross-checked with a list, so if you weren't on the list, you weren't going to enter, those inside couldn't take anyone in, so people tactically didn't pick up calls or switched off their phones. Coming from Nigeria to the wedding, Tosin's step-mom, Angela took the whole shine, she had a dedicated private jet and we heard it was filled to capacity, those who couldn't get on her jet, had to go by commercial flights (Business Class though). The whole Omokore household, maids etc were transported to Dubai, so as to be a part of the jollification. The man of the moment himself lodged at ''The One''. Deejay Jimmy Jatt, Africa's Numero Uno was on the wheel of steel on the wedding day, the Wiz of life, Wizkid performed to everyone's delight at the wedding proper, NaetoChukwu Chikwe aka Naeto C had performed admirably at the Pre-wedding party. As it should be Nigeria's pride, Bright ''Basketmouth'' Okpocha was the perfect host.

That's not all, Godbless & the Eboni Band were flown in from Nigeria- band, equipments and all, to provide live music of the esoteric kind. The 3rd place winners  at the 3rd edition of America's Got Talent, Nuttin but Stringz also came in to perform. The duo consists of 2 very talented brothers, who both play violins and they can do a whole gamut of genre (Hip-hop, Classical Music & R&B) with awesome dexterity. Remember one member of the now disbanded KUSH, Lara George, yes you all can. The lady with the great voice performed at the Church wedding. Incidentally, wedding day was Faizer's mom's birthday, so she was honoured with one of her favourite songs done by Lara and she was presented a birthday cake. 

Those in attendance? A whole lot, about 20 Senators flew in Senators Gbenga Ashafa, Smart Adeyemi, Margery Okadigbo were easily noticeable, the former Governor of Kogi State and the current Governor were both in attendance, so also was Godswill Akpabio, the Governor of Akwa-Ibom, 3 Royal fathers were seen their royal majesties Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, Oba of Epe, Oba Shefiu Olatunji Bamgbopa, the Asiwaju himself, Governor-Emeritus Bola Ahmed Tinubu, MD/CEO Oando, Wale Tinubu, Billionaire Kola Aluko, his younger brother Kunle Aluko, Dejare Adegbenro, former NDDC boss, Timi Alaibe, Akpovi Oyo, Deoye Austen-Peters, Chairman of the occasion was none other than Major-General David Madayese Jemibewon, so many others. 

As par the wedding gifts, it had to be the type that would befit the occasion, sure they did. They were the new BlackBerry Q10 Phones, Samsung Galaxy Tabs, Bang & Olufsen Sound System Speakers, Arabian Tea Set & luxury towels. To get all of the gifts you had to be a VVIP. The VVIP's were the likes of the Ooni and co, & they had their designated sitting area. But there was also the all comers part inside the same hall and those ones got some of the gifts and not all. 

The destination wedding was packaged by Ayiri Oladumoye's Oaken Event Limited, which is gradually becoming the number 1 for such events in Nigeria. The company also handled Tuface & Annie Macaulay's Dubai extravaganza, just a few weeks ago. 

Immediately after the wedding Otunba Jide Omokore left in the company of his good friend, another billionaire, Mr. Kola Aluko for London en-route Monaco, where he has gone to catch a breather while watching F1-the game of the super duper rich......

The name Jide Omokore until recent times was not too known by many. Except you are one of the high-flyer in the very lucrative oil & gas sector, you might not have heard about the money bag who makes many sit up at his entrance. That he is a billionaire many times over is like saying fishes live inside water. From the little we have been able to dig about the father of Tosin, the young man whose high octane wedding is tomorrow in Dubai, the UAE, controls nothing less than 8 massive and very rich oil well. According to estimates, one of the lucrative oil well located in the Otorogun oil fields alone, rakes in nothing less than $12 Million dollars per day. His first son's wedding tomorrow, Saturday, June 8, 2013 in Dubai is a clear statement that money has been conquered and since it's now a willing servant, it's been sent to work. The hotel chosen for the wedding is one of the most prestigious in a land where the word prestige is in capital letters. A 3-Star hotel in Dubai would rival many 5-Star hotels in many parts of the world. So you must understand that for JW Marriott to have been chosen for the wedding, they must have met exacting criteria. Not less than 200 rooms was booked for this wedding, plus the hall and other services that they would be rendering. Like we had earlier informed, for avoidance of any doubt and to make sure everything was 7-star, 'CASH money' was paid for the booking and that amounted to like a Million dollars, conservatively put that would amount to #155 Million Naira alone. That is not inclusive of many other expenses. For the man, who we hear has 4 private jets at his beck and call, that surely must be coins. Unconfirmed reports says he might have a bit of interest in VistaJet.

We are still wondering how come, the normally very well respected authority on the rich & famous- Forbes Magazine has not rated this man as one of Nigeria's top 10 richest people. One of his business partners known to all as Mr. Kola Aluko, is unarguably one of Nigeria's richest men by any standards one wants to use to judge it. The amount we hear that has been spent on this wedding is too staggering to mention and from what we hear it makes all other weddings in this class look like a child's play or better still like a bachelor's eve party. 

Come Saturday, June, 8, 2013, Oluwatosin Omokore, the very 'lucky' first son of the Otunba would be taking as wife is 40 plus sweetheart of inestimable value- Faizer AbdulKadri-Fari, the daughter of Ambassador Abdulkadri-Fari, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources at a ceremony where many who-is-who would witnessing. Some are speculating that the President himself, His Excellency, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan if not too busy, might grace the occasion, also expected to stop-over at the wedding ceremony is the Honourable Minister for Petroleum, Mrs. Diezanni Allison-Madueke, another big time guest expected is Mr. Kola Aluko and very many more. 

At the airport in Lagos on Wednesday some of those we saw boarding Emirate Airline flights going for the Hajj , but most likely stopping over at the wedding were his Excellency, the Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, who we saw with Ibadan based Multi-millionaire Alhaji Arisekola Alao. We also saw Otunba Lai Oriwo, on that same Wednesday with 2 friends in tow heading to Dubai, also said to have left are the Publisher of ThisDay Newspaper, Prince Nduka Obaigbena & Deoye Austen-Peters of Austen Energy. 

As we speak Dubai is said to be buzzing. 

For many who might not know, Otunba Jide Omokore is one of the biggest players in the oil and gas industry and also a global player in other business ventures. He is the Chairman of Energy Resources Group, the holding company for many first rate subsidiaries like SPOG Petrochemicals, Fivatek Nigeria Limited, Energy Resources Limited, Millennium Oil & Gas Limited, Mituchi Investment Limited, Camwood Dredging Limited, Bestway Properties Limited, Cedar Engineering Nigeria Limited and several other companies. This Group's annual revenue according to Forbes is in excess of $400 Million Dollars. His company is one of the only few allowed to lift crude oil now, from what we hear. One very common thing we have also heard about the great man of means is his uncommon generosity. He is said to have helped countless numbers of people.

A testament to his avowed generosity was a $2 Million dollars bail out, he was said to have given a 'very well known figure' very recently, when the said personality had financial quagmire and needed the quick fix.

The hotel which was opened not too long ago from what we have heard is where the wedding /reception etc would take place. It has the largest meeting room in the whole of Dubai. One of the ballroom measuring 14,477 Sq ft and has a maximum capacity of 1,548. So apart from a few, who would be staying at other accommodations, some of the guests and family members etc are all booked to stay at the hotel. It is a one-stop package for everything. We hear a Nigerian event planner got the deal and the company would be working hand-in-hand with the exceptionally trained wedding planners from the JW Marriott.

Let's give you a little picture of the wedding facilities available at the venue- It is one of the finest luxury hotels for weddings. They have on-site certified wedding event planners who can conjure any magic you want to happen. For weddings alone, not adding other meeting rooms, they have  total of 8,000 Square meters of indoor & outdoor event space. The wedding hall is composed of 2 ballrooms- Dubai & Emirates ballrooms. Apart from this 2 massive spaces, they also have 24 individual rooms for wedding receptions. So you can see that space for a proper reception of any type or kind is no problem. 

The Aso-ebi that was given out for FREE to all the guests is valued at a $1000 plus dollars each, in Naira that's in excess of #160,000 for each person. People are already saying this would be the biggest wedding in Dubai by a non-indigene in a long time to come. Even the hotel has never seen cash like that before since they opened for business.

Bashorun Omokore is the Chairman/CEO of The Energy Resources Group, who are the owners of SPOG Petrochemicals Ltd, Fivatek Nigeria Ltd, Innovative Haulage Ltd, Expedia Marian and many other companies. The very liquid Jide Omokore, who is the godfather of Yagba politics in Kogi State, also holds substantial holdings at Atlantic Energy Drilling Concept  Limited, the company is presently facing a petition sent to EFCC to investigate a supposed shady deal involving her and the Minister for Petroleum, Diezani Allison-Madueke said to be worth about N58.9 Trillion. 

The EFCC troubles aside, the most IMPORTANT thing presently to the billionaire from our little investigation, is how he plans to throw one of the best & most exotic destination weddings possible for his first son, come the next few weeks in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The groom to be we hear is Bashorun Jide Omokore's first son from his estranged first wife and not from his current highly cerebral wife, Angela Ebagua who is a director at Access Bank Plc. Many are even suggesting that Angela might be taking over from Aigboje Aig-Imokhude as the MD of the bank, when he retires sometimes soon and possibly take over as the CBN Governor.
