This year’s edition of Music Meets Runway tagged –ICON EDITION would definitely be an event to remember as music legends, Femi Kuti and 2Face Idibia are set to fire up the stage and thrill Music and Fashion lovers as the models strut on the runway.

Grammy Award nominee, Femi Kuti, son of the Afro-beat king and pioneer, Fela Kuti is one of Nigeria’s biggest exports recognized for his genre of music and collaboration with the world’s best artists- Roy Hargrove, D’Angelo, Nile Rodgers to mention but a few.

Performing alongside Femi Kuti, is multiple award winning (international & local) Afro-pop icon, 2Face Idibia, a songwriter and record producer. The UN Peace ambassador has worked with musical giants such as R. Kelly, Akon, Wyclef Jean and Mary J. Blige.

This will be the first time both artists will be performing on the Music Meets Runway Platform.

Music Meets Runway has featured notable artists such as D’banj, Wizkid, Davido, Duncan Mighty, K-switch, Burna Boy and this year’s event will be stronger and  bigger as  MMR 2013 presents ICONIC Music Acts on stage.

Meets Runway (MMR) has successfully showcased Nigeria’s talent in the fashion and music industry in the past years and also positioned itself as a brand that fuses Music & Fashion and also provides a platform for recognition.

2 KINGS LIVE IN CONCERT UPCOMING!!!

The D-date is set for Sunday, August 25, 2013. The venue is expansive hall of the convention center at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The concert would feature the 2 of the only artistes worthy of being referred to as kings. One of them is the Prince of Afro-beats himself, the one and only Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, who with his band, the Positive force would grace the bandstand. Unarguably, Femi is one of the most respected Nigerian/African musicians in the world. Not very many Nigerian musicians have been nominated for the very prestigious 'Grammy Awards'. And Femi has had that privilege.

Set to play alongside Femi on the night at the same concert, is most probably Nigeria's most talented musician of late, who incidentally is also one of the best vocalists from Africa, and that's none other than 2 Baba himself, the one and only Innocent 'Tuface' Idibia. 

Now you would readily agree that these 2 are truly authentic music kings. As we speak there's an on going scramble from would be sponsors, who are willing to be a part of the concert.

D’Banj (@iamdbanj) and Big Nuz (@BigNuz_Afro) are the latest urban megastars set to electrify music fans at MTV Africa All Stars KwaZulu-Natal with Snoop Lion.   The first ever MTV Africa All Stars concert, staged by MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) and KwaZulu-Natal Province, takes place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium (@MMStadium), People’s Park in Durban on 18th May 2013.

Charismatic Nigerian singer-songwriter, D’Banj has risen to stardom thanks to his innovative fusion of AfroBeat, AfroPop and AfroFusion sounds, delivered in a combination of Yoruba, English and Pidgin English.  The self-styled “koko master” and multi-platinum selling recording artist achieved global attention thanks to his 2012 smash-hit “Oliver Twist”, which sold more than 11 million copies worldwide and debuted at number 9 on the UK National charts just behind the likes of Rihanna and Tulisa.  Inspired and influenced by the late AfroBeat maestro Fela Anikulapo Kuti, D’Banj has won a host of awards including Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007, Artist of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2009, the BET Awards of 2011 for Best International Act and Best African Act at the 2012 MOBO Awards.

Fresh from their appearance at the MTV Africa All Stars tour in Nairobi, Kenya are the undisputed kings of kwaito, Big Nuz, the insanely talented trio that comprises Jojo(aka Mampintsha), Mzi (aka Danger) and Sbu (aka R Mashesha).  Since forming in 2002, these award-winning Durban homeboys have confidently transformed the South African dance music landscape, growing under the guidance of their mentor, DJ Tira, and gracing innumerable clubs and stages at home and abroad with banging dancefloor favourites such as “Umlilo”, “Ntombenhle”, “Serious” and “Newlands West”.

2 FACE IDIBIA GEARING UP TO HOST WINTER WONDERLAND PARTY

Africa's best Tuface Idibia is set to host thousands of kids this year to a most superlative Christmas Party ever. 

Festive seasons in Nigeria is usually geared towards the adult with no well thought out celebratory events planned for the kids, 2face in conjunction with BM EPIC MEDIA and NOW MUZIK En.Core would like to change this perception by creating a spectacular Winter Wonderland celebration.

The Winter Wonderland theme party is entering its 3rd installment of fun-filled holiday celebration that's geared towards kids between the ages of 2-12. This year promises to be even more amazing with international music artiste 2face hosting 500 children at 10 degrees event centre, Oregun, Lagos on the 18th of December, 2012. 2face Idibia who is scheduled to host the event was quoted saying, “Providing a form of servitude to children especially during the festive period is the little way of him giving back to Nigeria’s future generation” and Deborah Ronke Apampa, (a UK-based TV personality and partner at Barnes & Molby) expressed her excitement by saying, “It gives me a great sense of fulfillment to create excitement for children on this special occasion”.

2face and some of his invited friends will be making guest appearances at the venue to help with the soiree along with Santa Claus, UK’s number 1 children’s party entertainer- OBC Party Saints, and characters from Flaming Fun UK; aside from all these every child will be accorded star treatment and positioned for photo opportunities with known TV/Radio personalities, Comedians, Actors, Musicians and other celebrities. There will also be a plethora of seasonal winter effects on ground like 'snow', 9 foot tall5 foot wide elves, amusement park rides and goody bags to truly make it representative of the winter holiday season.
